Gas (Propane) Company Services

The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe purchased the propane company in 1987 and was transferred to the C.R.S.T. Telephone Authority. The new company was named the Cheyenne River Gas Company and basically serves the entire 4,600 square mile area that encompasses the reservation. With two (2) full-time staff members and three (3) seasonal employees, the company provides propane as a winter heating fuel.

The company has three main pumping sites located in Eagle Butte, Dupree and South Dupree that provide a major storage for propane products and assists in providing a more rapid deployment of propane during extreme winter conditions.
