"Fast and Reliable Service"
The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe purchased the propane company in 1987 and was transferred to the C.R.S.T. Telephone Authority to be operated under a management operation agreement.  The new company was named the Cheyenne River Gas Company and basically serves the entire 4,600 square mile area that encompasses the reservation.   With three (3) full-time staff members and four (4) seasonal employees, the company provides propane as a winter heating fuel.

The company has three main pumping sites located in Eagle Butte, Dupree and South Dupree that provide a major storage for propane products and assists in providing a more rapid deployment of propane during extreme winter conditions.

The company works with Mr. John Densmore, renown drummer of the DOORS band to create a recurring program entitled the "Revolving Doors Fund".  This fund allows the purchase of propane during the summer months at low seasonal prices and then sold at a fixed price to the low income program operated under the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.  This propane benefits low income people that are served under the tribal LIEAP program and creates a great social benefit to qualified participants.
